BI Data Engineer


The role


Our Business Intelligence and Reporting team needs a BI Data Engineer to develop and maintain data warehouse solutions, the main aim being to extract key data in terms of reporting and statistics. This data establishes a firm basis for all our decision-making and analytical processes.


You will set up and manage data aggregates, schedule jobs and reports, as well as innovate and implement changes to how our data is used. This role requires interaction with other departments to gather requirements before implementing and supporting solutions.


What you will do


  • Manage and support BI reporting solutions
  • Enriching data, set up and manage data aggregates
  • Interact with other departments to gather requirements and implement and support solutions
  • Proactively ensure that reports are accurate, timely and meet stakeholders' requirements
  • Write complex and optimised SQL queries
  • Designing and building BI Reporting and streaming capabilities
  • Challenge existing processes and propose improvements
  • Data investigations and problem-solving
  • Recommend best practices (testing, documentation and development)
  • Communicate proactively with the team and stakeholders
  • Utilize the latest technologies (e.g. cloud, real-time streaming)

Your experience


  • Experience of Oracle (11g and above) SQL and PL/SQL
  • Handled large volumes of data
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts
  • Experience in building dashboards and reports for end users
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Great attention to detail
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem-solving
  • A passion for learning and developing with a growth mindset 
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English


An advantage

  • Qlik Sense and Apex experience
  • Knowledge of Python or Java
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (or desire to learn)
