Development Team Lead


The role


We are looking for an exceptional developer to head up our Development & UX team for Kindred's 32Red brand. In this position you'll be managing a fantastic, multi-skilled team of web developers, UX and UI designers, who are responsible for maintaining, enhancing and always improving the Online Casino experience, end-to-end.

What you will do


  • Own the development roadmap, planning the team's projects to ensure short and long term business priorities are met
  • Liaise with the other departments to ensure that the development team's objective are aligned with those of the wider business
  • Lead the development; mentoring, reviewing and enforcing the best practices in programming, application structure and testing
  • Make decisions on what technologies are used, formulating a strategy to replace legacy systems while keeping up to date with the latest solutions and methods available
  • Be responsible for the performance, reliability and security of the all external and internal applications under your supervision
  • Manage the team's workflow in an Agile environment, making the necessary adaptations to reduce project delivery times and minimise the occurrence of bugs
  • Oversee the productivity and output of the UX team, giving guidance on what is achievable and being the strongest link between the visual prototypes and flows and the finished working product


Your experience


  • Significant knowledge of Front-End and Back-End Web Application Architecture and Development
  • Experience with modern PHP to a high standard, including MVC frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Javascript and JS frameworks
  • Previous database design and operation (MySQL) experience
  • An understanding of micro-services and networking.
  • Continuous Integration practices and applications
  • Solid understanding of agile principles, workflows and tools
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Basic server management experience
  • Experience with web application development from idea to prototype to finished product, with good knowledge of UX/UI.
  • Previous experience with team management in a larger organisation, preferably in an Agile environment.
