About the role


The Procurement function at Kindred is undergoing a period of expansion and enhancement with the goal to establish itself as a trusted advisor to all parts of the Kindred group. Within Kindred, working in the procurement department is not just about negotiating the lowest price, to be successful you will need a mix of business skills (relationship building, risk management, communication and strategic thinking) as well as more traditional procurement skills (negotiation, contract management) to deliver real tangible competitive advantage and benefits to the business.


We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our procurement team in the role of Marketing Procurement Manager supporting our Marketing and Commercial departments. The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid experience in marketing procurement, ideally within a fast-paced, digital industry.


The role will focus on supporting the Marketing and Commercial departments in driving value whereever possible. It's beneficial to have experience understanding commercials models and cost drivers within the category as well as deep knowledge of managing and developing suppliers and relationships.


Key accountabilities


  • To develop and execute global buying strategies for the Commercial and Marketing categories in a highly regulated, fast changing environment by identifying value adding opportunities and ensure the benefits are realised.
  • To engage with stakeholders, working collaboratively with the Commercial and Marketing organisation to ensure alignment with the business is upheld throughout the process.
  • To strengthen current processes and organisation further to lead and manage globally decentralised marketing teams in achieving their objectives and goals
  • To lead and support projects of various complexity, some short term, quick wins, others more complex and long term evaluation and negotiation based
  • To support senior managers, either by taking the lead or by providing support through strategic sourcing activity.
  • Support managers in performing periodic strategic and operational supplier reviews. Manage Service Level Agreements and ensure the supplier performs to the levels outlined in the contract.
  • Support the Head of Procurement in developing and implementing the procurement strategy across Kindred Group
  • Take a pro-active approach to increase the knowledge about good procurement practices by developing relevant guidelines and procedures as well as running workshops and training sessions to the wider business.
  • Serve as a procurement business partner to 2-3 Executive team members
  • Ensure the business sees the value of procurement and “buys in” to what you're delivering


We're looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and experience


  • An excellent track record within marketing procurement and within a fast paced, international, B2C environment
  • Strong communicaton, networking and influencing skills. Negotiation skills with the ability to influence with or without authority at a levels
  • A track record in delivering better value (not always cheapest) from suppliers
  • The ability to negotiate contracts, perform supplier reviews, drive supplier performance, and identify key suppliers.
  • Able to benchmark suppliers across Kindred's markets to ensure that we get the best possible value from our supplier base.
  • Experience in using a range of different procurement strategies depending on size and type of deal and supplier
  • Self-starter, able to work without day to day supervision in a global organization with stakeholders and colleagues in multiple locations around the world
  • Service-oriented mindset, with a desire to ensure client satisfaction


Travel within Europe will be required (1 or 2 short trips per month)




  • Relevant degree
  • CIPS qualification beneficial
