Product Manager (Data Pipeline)

Reporting to: Data Pipeline Manager

 

The role

If so, you could be a great candidate to take on the role as a Data Product Manager for our brand new Data Pipeline Team!

The Data department in Kindred consists of five teams and our vision is to drive and support Kindred to become and to be recognised as the most data-driven gambling company in the world!

We are right now in the process of taking our data platform to the next level to come closer to the vision and also making sure data becomes widely available to be used. When building our new platform we are considering exciting parameters like how to best use cloud and what could be more suitable for on-premise, how do we best support going into new geographical regions and how do we best design our platform for scalability, real-time and with a cost effective approach.

Our Data Pipeline team focusing on managing and maintaing our real-time and batch flow of data into our Data platform and making sure all data is correctly described, designed, accessible and always ready to be used by all stakeholders.

 

What you will do

 

As a Product Manager you are a key person supporting the team how to best structure, break down, understand and plan the deliveries. You have great domain knowledge and know what it means to work with a data team and with its stakeholders. You are an expert in how to best structure requests and deliveries for the team's processes to work efficiently.

You are fully on top of managing the backlogs for the team and that the team has the ability to efficiently execute on incoming work working closely with stakeholders and the team. You also make sure initiatives are being delivered according to plan and support the team with any delivery challenges.

You also take the right decisions when it comes to priorities in close collaboration with other roles in the team. Other activities include facilitating and coordinating backlog ceremonies like grooming sessions, time estimations and sprint planning.

In this role you collaborate with several other roles in the Data organisation:

• You work closely with the Data Engineers when it comes to picking up, understanding, breaking down and executing on incoming work from and together with stakeholders.
• You work closely with our Business Analysts who support finding out all details needed for the deliveries
• You work closely with our Data Portfolio Manager when it comes to structuring, executing and providing status updates on bigger initiatives that will run for a longer period of time
• You work closely with the Product Managers in the other Data teams to sync deliveries, align expectations and make sure any dependencies and waiting times are minimized
• You work closely with your Manager when it comes to best way of working and best way of supporting the team

 

How will success be measured in this role

 

Through having meaningful conversations with your line lead
Maintaining all relevant regulatory training and other compliance activities in order to support Kindred's sustainable and responsible growth
Acting in line with Kindred's values

 

Your experience

 

• Have a structured approach. You like having things in good order and you are fully on top of backlogs and correct representation of incoming work and deliveries.
• Like providing clarity. You work closely with other roles with the goal to make it as clear as possible to the team to be able to deliver.
• Enjoy coordinating and syncing with people in the team as well as reaching out to the other Data teams, always with the end delivery in mind.
• Be flexible. You have the ability to handle different types of requests and believe in an agile way of working where the end result and business value is in focus.
• Have a good understanding of the data domain. You understand what is needed for a Data Engineer to be able to deliver. You also understand key concepts like data pipeline, data aggregations, big data, business intelligence, self-service and their role in the data eco-system.
• Be good at talking to stakeholders both with technical profile as well as more commercially focused stakeholders.
